The Swifts
Accidental smallholders to something more significant? we hope so – but not without its challenges.
Daniel is a director of a successful local business, a keen country sportsman and meat enthusiast who along with his wife Sarah, returned to Great Cheverell 18 months ago.
Sarah is a working mum, who grew up, ‘mucking out’ and riding at a local Equestrian Centre. It was her days here that developed and nurtured her love for animals and the great outdoors. Sarah, empathetic by nature, is compassionate in the daily care of our animals and takes the lead in animal husbandry.
Moving back to Great Cheverell with their three children Rosie, Noah and Matilda allowed us (them) to realise a long-held ambition to sustainably raise their own animals.
Today the whole family are involved, the children can regularly be seen getting their hands (and everywhere else!) dirty out on the farm assisting with anything from trimming our Pedigree Boer Goats feet to helping ‘dag’ our mixed breed flock of sheep. There is always something that needs to be done and working as a family to care for our animals is what it’s all about!
